Duante Barnett - Bio

Comedian

Duante 'Suitman' Barnett, a native of Seattle, WA, owns and operates SuitMan Productions, which is known for its innovative comedy productions. His first original show idea, Deaf Comedy Jam, was inspired by his own hearing loss and aims to unite both the hearing and non-hearing communities. For three consecutive years, he has been a fixture of the Annual Northwest Black Comedy Festival, where he was featured on the 'Best Podcast' of 2020 and recognized as 'Best Host' in 2021. Additionally, he hosted, managed, and performed at the Idaho Comedy Festival in 2021.

Renowned venues like Laugh Comedy Club's Laugh Off and Jai Thai's Comedy Clash, along with many artists from the Pacific Northwest, appreciate his creative influence in comedy. All this is achieved while he is hard of hearing (HOH) and after undergoing surgery on his left ear, which restored about 40-50% of his hearing. SuitMan Productions serves as more than just an entertainment company; it provides a vital platform for showcasing diversity in comedy and creating safe forums for artists in need of opportunities. His latest projects, The Autastic Artists and Dating With Disabilities podcasts, spotlight entertainers and artists on the spectrum and with physical disabilities, further enriching the landscape of comedy podcasts.

Producer

As a producer, Suitman hosted a unique monthly showcase that inspired diversity in comedy and his Opencase show highlighted local talent across various locations in the Seattle area. Events like Deaf Comedy Jam, Dark Brew, Mixed N Misidentified, Santa’s Naughty List, Cupid’s Rejects, Holiday Momedy, WAP: Women Are Phunny, and Give Love Laugh have all been produced live. Venues such as Lo-Fi Performance Gallery, Ballard Brother's, Player's Club Bar, Stage Seattle, Columbia City Theater, Cafe Red, and The Palace Theater hosted SuitMan Productions. During the pandemic, SuitMan Productions successfully put on 11 shows in Boise, ID, at the Lounge at the End of the Universe.

Since the pandemic, SuitMan Productions has expanded its reach with comedy podcasts and performers from around the world on their current online shows. Monthly offerings like RAW Comedy (Ridiculously Amazing Women), The Autastic Artist, and Dating With Disabilities showcase the talents of women, women of color, and artists on the spectrum. Other rotating highlights include Soul Sista Sundays, Social Security Influencers, Laughing Through Recovery, Dark Brew, Mixed N Misidentified, Santa’s Naughty List, Cupid’s Rejects, and Black & Proud, ensuring weekly entertainment for audiences.

Currently, SuitMan Productions hosts monthly shows in Seattle at Jules Maes Saloon. Every weekend, you can enjoy entertainment through SuitMan Production's Facebook page.
